On June 15, however, a glimpse of hope came in the shape of a TV screen in the boot of a car, as kids got the chance to experience a thrilling moment while watching Iran take on Morocco in their opening match of the Russia 2018 World Cup. Iran claimed their first World Cup win in 20 years but that victory meant more to these kids in Sarpol-e Zahab who also have dreams of maybe representing their country someday.
Mohammad Nassiri, a professional photographer and AIPS Member made this possible.
“I decided to go there and create a second of satisfaction by giving them a screen to watch the national game. I also bought them national team jerseys and tried to invent a pleasant picture in their mind for supporting their team. “I am a professional kids photographer and I spend quite a significant amount of my daily life with kids in the studio, but genuinely speaking there is no word to describe how joyful it was for me to see these Kurdish kids having a good time. It was one of the best experience of my whole life and I hope they all enjoyed.”
